Winter is coming! Be prepared!

Very many drivers forget about proper securing their car from winter. Consequently, they face problems in their way of firing a car and even getting inside. In addition, the roads are filled with salt, mud, sand or snow, which significantly increase the danger for our beloved vehicles.

The basic bane with which the winter driver struggles is the problem of firing a car. Where are its foundations? Usually the main culprits are the battery (and its owner). It consists of chemical electric cells, which under the influence of low temperature lose their ability to supply electricity. The battery is just about the loss of capacity. For example, at 0 ° C, the battery reduces its capacity to 80% of the value it had at 25 ° C. In critical cases, the capacity of an efficient battery can reach zero ampere hours. Then we will not be able to provide energy even to the interior lighting of the cabin. When thermometers indicate drops below -20 ° C, the battery capacity is similar to the battery capacity of the old-time laptop. The maximum current that we are able to download is significantly reduced.

The most common and effective practice is to take the battery to a warm room (or an additional blanket cover). It can be charged at the time using a rectifier, but this is not necessary. In addition, remember to press the clutch during firing to assist the starter. You must also be aware that most of the devices on board our car needs electricity for its operation and constantly consumes it - from headlights, through wipers, to a car alarm. Some remain active even after removing the key and may need to be replaced before the season. Remember that problems with firing a car are a signal for further diagnosis by a specialist.

Many people have problems with freezing door handles and locks in the door and trunk. Preventing this state of affairs can be done using any hydrophobic (water displacement) agent. However, they should be used preventively. If the problems of this nature are repeated - then it is worth considering investing in new parts, or high quality substitutes. For its part, we can even lubricate the locks and lubricate the gaskets with glycerin or Vaseline.

The real bane is also the freezing wipers. After the autumn of heavy rain and high wipers, specialists recommend replacing wiper blades. Especially that next comes winter, which low temperatures and snowfall can affect their lifespan. In winter, on the road there is sand and salt, which then land on the windows of our car. They are harmful to both the wipers and the windshield itself. During this period it is important to regularly clean the windshield and the rubber elements of our wipers. On stops during a big frost - it is worth lifting the wipers up. Always make sure that the windshield wiper blades do not freeze into the windshield before you drive, especially after a long stop in winter. Attempting to run the frosted ones stuck strongly on the windshield wipers may, for example, cause a fuse to blow in their circuit and even worse consequences.

The most important, however, is the purchase of winter washer fluid and brake fluid! The winter washer fluid is an essential equipment for every driver in the winter. It is he who provides comfort in difficult conditions. Make sure there is no liquid with high freezing temperature in the washer fluid reservoir! A similar matter applies to brake fluid. As everyone knows - in winter, the braking line is extended. This translates into wiping out of the brake pads and straining the entire braking system! Regardless of whether it is a disc or drum system! Make sure that the brake fluid level remains at a high level! You can order these items right away, in our store!
