Ford Transit 2.2 TDCi overheating - radiator fanRising temperature in traffic and under load with the coolant level correct is most often a sign of a faulty radiator fan on the Transit MK7, a problem especially well known on 130 PS versions from 2007-2011. In the MK7 the fan has a built-in electronic control module, and this is usually the part that fails: the fan either does not switch on at all or only works on one speed. Overheating must not be ignored, because it ends with head gasket damage. When replacing the fan, it is worth checking the thermostat and radiator flow as well. |
