Ford Transit 2.0 EcoBlue loses power and shows P008A - in-tank fuel pump

Fault code P008A, indicating that pressure in the low-pressure fuel system is too low, together with rough running and loss of power, often points to the in-tank fuel pump on an EcoBlue. Failures of this pump on the first generation of these engines (2016-2019) are well documented on owners' forums. Correct low-side fuel pressure is approximately 7 bar. Start the diagnosis with the least expensive possibilities: a blocked fuel filter, which can produce the same code, and the fuel rail pressure sensor. The sensor body can work loose and generate intermittent pressure fault codes. Replace the in-tank pump only after these causes have been ruled out.
