Ford Transit MK6 has no power above 3000 rpm - MAF sensor

When a 2000-2006 Transit 2.0/2.4 loses power, chokes at higher rpm or goes into limp mode, and the symptoms temporarily disappear after switching the engine off and restarting it, the airflow meter is a typical culprit. A dirty or damaged sensor sends the ECU an understated air reading, and the ECU responds by cutting fuel. Quick workshop test: disconnect the MAF plug. If the engine runs better on default values, the sensor needs replacing.

MAF sensor, filter or EGR - how to tell?

A blocked air filter gives gradual and constant symptoms with no improvement after restart, so rule it out first because it is cheapest. A stuck EGR valve mainly causes poor pull at low rpm and jerking, while the MAF cuts power higher up when accelerating. If you replace the MAF sensor, fit a new air filter as well: a dirty filter element is the most common reason a new sensor dies early.
