Renault Master 2.3 dCi lost power and whistles on acceleration

A sudden loss of power with a whistle or whoosh when accelerating is a classic sign of a boost leak on Renault Master III 2.3 dCi. The intercooler pipes use quick connectors without extra clamps, so they can loosen and pop off under boost pressure. Escaping air reduces power and can leave oil mist in the engine bay, causing smoke or a burnt smell when hot.

How to fix the whistle under acceleration?

Check the lower intercooler pipe, upper intercooler pipe and intercooler to intake manifold hose. If one has failed, the others may be close behind. Transit Center supplies all required parts.
