Renault Master 2.3 dCi will not start - air in the fuel system

If a Master 2.3 dCi will not start or only starts after long cranking and there are no fault codes, air in the fuel system is often the cause. On 2010-2014 models, a cracked fuel filter housing can draw in air instead of diesel, preventing proper pressure build-up. Before testing injectors or the high-pressure pump, replace the 2.3 dCi fuel filter together with the housing O-rings.
