Water leaking onto injectors in Renault Trafic 2.0 dCi - seized injectorsIn Renault Trafic, Opel Vivaro and Nissan Primastar 2.0 dCi, a leaking scuttle panel is a factory weakness. Water runs from the windscreen cowl area straight onto the cylinder head and injector seats. The result is corrosion that seizes the injectors so badly that removal requires a hydraulic puller, and in extreme cases the cylinder head is damaged. The first and cheapest step is sealing the lower scuttle trim before water starts dripping onto the engine. Whenever injectors are replaced, always use new sealing washers, copper washers, and O-rings; reusing old seals causes blow-by and the injectors seize again. |
