What to do when a Renault Trafic will not start?

When a Renault Trafic will not start, begin with two quick checks that narrow the fault down. First, after turning the key to ignition, listen for a few seconds of fuel pump humming from under the rear seat area or near the tank. If there is no sound, suspect the pump, its relay, fuse, or the inertia cut-off switch that stops fuel supply.
