Where does a Renault Trafic rust?

On the Renault Trafic and its twin, the Opel Vivaro, corrosion attacks the whole underside: chassis rails, sills, wheel arches and suspension mounts can rot badly, especially on post-2001 vans used in harsh conditions. The most troublesome points are the jacking points on the sills. Once these rot through, the van cannot be lifted safely, either for a roadside wheel change or in the workshop, because the jack has nothing solid to support and simply punches through the metal.

What to do with rotten jacking points?

Rotten jacking points are not worth patching temporarily.
