Ford Transit Trail - off-road delivery truck

Ford is famous for interesting versions of its vans. Once SuperVans were created as part of the promotion, now the four-drive Transit Trail is available for general distribution. Already at first glance, you can notice some differences from the traditional version, with drive on one axle. There is a massive grille at the front of the vehicle, a tribute to the Ford Raptor. Hidden under the hood is the 2.0 TDCI engine, generating an impressive 185 hp. The Transit Trail was created for the most demanding customers who are looking for an interesting base for a motorhome, or who move around difficult, mountainous conditions on a daily basis. The limited slip differential (mLSD) and beautiful 16-inch rims on off-road tires come in handy here. Who is the Transit Trail aimed at? Is it worth paying more for an off-road delivery truck?

Transit Trail - advantages and disadvantages

The interesting amenities that distinguish the Transit Trail from the traditional version include:
- a large multimedia screen located in the central part of the dashboard,
- elegant, leather seats (unfortunately with a small adjustment range),
- a rear view camera that activates automatically after shifting into reverse gear,
- driving comfort up to 90 km/h (it gets loud later),
- a lot of interesting technologies: collision avoidance system, track assistant, pedestrian detection,
- reinforced Ford Transit leaf spring,
- intelligent suspension system that adjusts to the weight and arrangement of items in the loading area.

We had the opportunity to test this van in urban, track and off-road conditions. It must be admitted that, however, it works best in everyday activities - transporting parcels, unloading items, driving in urban conditions and between cities. The 4x4 drive unfortunately forced some weaknesses of this vehicle. First of all, it gets very noisy in the driver's cab when driving above 100 km / h. Another downside is the non-intuitive, short gearbox, which does not make much difference on long journeys, but can tire when driving around the city.
