The Ford Transit has been on Europe's roads since 1965. Over the years, we have witnessed successive generations of the iconic delivery van. Ford Transit 2024 - China vs Europe

JMC is responsible for the design, sales and distribution of the Ford Transit in China. It is a joint venture owned by the Ford Group. The differences between the Chinese Ford Transit and the European version of the van are apparent at first glance. This is especially true if we turn our attention to the front of the vehicle. Different design of the lights, different design of the radiator grille. The front bumper and bonnet with one long air intake also have a different appearance. One gets the impression that the European Ford Transit has a more streamlined and aerodynamic front end design, which certainly translates into a drag coefficient. The design of the JMC Ford Transit 2024, on the other hand, is more futuristic, which corresponds to current trends in the Asian market. At the same time, both versions correspond to a model range dedicated to specific markets, i.e. other cars produced by JMC and Ford. It would be interesting to see how the Ford Transit Trail grille would look in the Chinese edition....

The Chinese Ford Transit is available in two distinct front-end versions. The passenger (minibus) version has a chrome openwork grill that is reminiscent of other passenger vehicles produced by JMC. The cargo (van) version, on the other hand, is reminiscent of the JMC Ford Ranger and is slightly more massive. In the case of the cargo version, we can count on 15.4 square metres of loading capacity, while the passenger version is already 13 square metres. The Chinese Ford Transit is available in three body versions: short (3000 mm), medium (3300 mm) and long (3750 mm). For comparison, it is worth taking a look at the Ford Transit 2024 dimensions page.

The JMC Ford Transit 2024 is available with two diesel engines: 2.3T and 2.0T. The former is borrowed from the Ford Puma and generates 175 mechnia horses (128kW) with a maximum torque of 430 Nm. The two-litre version fares slightly worse, generating 154 horsepower (390 Nm). Customers can choose between three gearboxes: the ZF 8AT, Magna 7MT and 6MT. In Europe, however, the 2.0 EcoBlue engine for the Ford Transit dominates.

JMC Teshun - electric Transit MK3

A worldwide evanescence and automotive curiosity. JMC has launched the Teshun model in 2023, which has the body of a 1986 Ford Transit. However, the van features significant changes. The design of the vehicle's front belt has been completely redesigned and an electric drive has been introduced. What is the story behind this development? Ford produced a Ford Transit based on the MK3-MK5 models in the Chinese market until 2017. Later, the rights to this model were sold to JMC, which used the old vehicle design to create an electric car. As announced by the manufacturer, the JMC Teshun has a 300 km range and a 163-horsepower electric motor that generates 320 Nm.
