At the end of the last decade, in response to changes introduced by other manufacturers, a number of new security systems were introduced. A van version with a 9-speed automatic transmission has been introduced on the European market. One of the strongest among the available variants generates 180 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
Where changes in the engine range came from? The popularity of using Ducato for camper bodies meant that the manufacturer had to adapt his vehicles to the requirements of the recipients. Campervan buildings can be very heavy and require appropriate power to ensure that traveling is smooth. The 2-liter engine with 115 hp has become a thing of the past. The base power unit in the 2020 models became the 2.3 MultiJet diesel with 120 HP and 320 Nm of torque. Other variants are also available: 140 HP and 180 HP. The parameters of the most powerful unit depend on the gearbox. In the case of the manual, the torque is at 400 Nm, while the 9-stage automatic machine squeezes 450 Nm. The Ducato MY2020 in the standard version is equipped with the EcoPack, which task is to reduce the cost of owning a van. EcoPack includes the Start & Stop system, an intelligent alternator; electronically controlled fuel pump that guarantees energy saving and greater combustion efficiency; ECO switch that helps the driver save fuel.
In 2020, the electric version of the Ducato III with a power of 122 hp debuted. The first tests showed a range of 360 km on a single charge, which would be one of the best results compared to the competition. However, the vehicle will only be available to selected fleet partners under the pilot project.
