Matchless Ford Transit MK7

The Ford Transit MK7, like its predecessor - the MK6 version also won the prestigious Van of the Year award in 2007. In mid-2006, the Ford Transit MK7 Sport Van was launched. This variety was characterized by 18-inch alloy wheels, "Le Mans" belts and a 130 HP (96 kW) engine. Initially, the Sport Van was supposed to be a limited version, but the unusually large interest in this model resulted in a change of decision on the Ford management board and this model became a mass produced version of the body.

At the end of 2007, a new 140 HP (103 kW) diesel engine was introduced to the market, which was used in versions with front-wheel drive along with a 6-speed manual transmission VMT6. A six-speed gearbox was also introduced in 2008 for models equipped with a 115 HP (85 kW) engine, when Ford decided to increase the power from 110 HP.

At the end of 2008, a diesel particulate filter was used in all diesel engines. cDPF. It has been implemented due to constantly rising exhaust emission standards. Thanks to the use of cDPF, the Ford Transit MK7 not only met EURO IV emission standards, but was also adapted to the Euro V standard. Ford Transit MK7 has appeared on the market in many different body styles. However, two of them was the most interesting:

Ford Transit XXL - was created to celebrate the Van of the Year 2007 award. It was characterized by an extended wheelbase of up to 7 meters and 40 centimeters, its appearance resembled a limousine known from American films. It was also equipped with a diesel engine with a capacity of 2.2 TDCi and a power of 96 kW (130 HP). Ford Transit XXL is by far the most expensive Ford Transit MK7 van ever made in Fords factory.

Super Sport Van - a one-off, high-performance version of the Ford Transit MK7 manufactured by Ford's European division. The 3.2L Duratorq I5 engine generating 198 horsepower (470 Nm) was used to drive the SuperSportVan. Combined with the 6-speed gearbox, it represented amazing performance. The SuperSportVan model also changed the front bumper, other side sills with double exhaust tailpipes, and new light alloy wheels with 235/45 tires. ABS, ESP and driver and passenger airbags took care of safety in this sports version of the Ford Transit. Ford Transit SuperSportVan was presented at the exhibition of vans in Birmingham.

In addition, versions were also available: 09-B, 190D, Blue Bird, E350 Super Duty, Econoline minibus, El Dorado Aerolite, Krystal, Luton, Metrotrans, Nugget, R1114, Sport, VE6, Wayne, Trend and Limited.
