Iveco Daily Diesel
The most common is the diesel fuel supply system. Fuel in diesel engines is ignited under the influence of high temperature and compression. For this reason, the fuel must be delivered to the combustion chamber under very high pressure. The fuel pump in the tank supplies diesel fuel to the fuel system. Then, after filtering, the fuel goes to the high pressure pump which feeds it to the injectors. The injectors introduce fuel into the combustion chamber. The excess fuel is returned to the fuel tank through the injector overflow lines. It happens that the injectors stop working after a long time of use. In this case, the injectors can be regenerated. Nevertheless, if we want a long-term repair of the fault, it is worth buying new injectors and enjoying a long maintenance-free ride.
Iveco Daily 3.0 CNG
Vans powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) have two fuel systems at the same time. The main system in this case is the compressed natural gas supply to the engine. CNG is stored in a steel tank adapted to a pressure of up to 20 MPa. Further in the system there are gas lines, a pressure reducer, gas filters and gas injectors. As an emergency, the Iveco Daily 3.0 engine can run on petrol. The gasoline fuel system is very similar to the diesel fuel system. It consists of a small 15 liter gasoline tank, fuel pump, fuel lines and injectors.
A common fault in liquid fuel systems is the failure of the fuel pump. After turning the ignition switch to the ignition position, you should hear a soft hum from around the fuel tank. If you do not hear anything, check the fuel pump fuses.
