The water cooler for the Ford Transit is a component of the engine cooling system. The radiator in each Transit is accessed by an upper radiator hose and a lower radiator hose. Over the decades of Ford Transit production, water coolers have changed shape. In the first MK1 model, the radiator was almost square. The material that was used for construction at the time was copper. This type of radiator was cooled by a fan located directly on the engine.
